Philosophy
Our design approach is a collaborative one. We enjoy working in partnership with our clients to create buildings and landscapes that are practical, sustainable, and beautiful. We know that no two projects are alike, so to create the best project for you, we strive to understand your individual needs and goals.
We believe a building should be integrated with its site, fitting into and belonging to its surrounding context - be it a natural or man-made landscape. When designing an addition, we integrate it into the building’s vernacular style so as to be completely comfortable with the original structure. We aim to make your building welcoming and livable, yet innovative and distinctive.
We also aim to make all our projects sustainable. This means creating buildings that will last and be energy efficient. We take advantage of the specific site conditions to facilitate natural climate control and water conservation. We work to preserve historic buildings. Often that means re-purposing them while maintaining their historic character.
